Veneers – Manchester, NH

Transform Your Smile in Just Two Appointments!

Woman with gorgeous smile

In the past, dental veneers never quite looked like natural teeth because porcelain was not the standard. In fact, most veneers were only meant to be worn for a short period of time. For example, movie stars only needed them to change their appearance for an upcoming scene. Now, not only can they be made to last many years, but anyone can take advantage of them! If your smile is filled with cosmetic imperfections, veneers in Manchester are incredibly effective at hiding all of them at once! To learn more or get started, give our dental office a call today!

Why Choose Fromuth & Langlois Dental of Manchester for Veneers?

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are ultra-thin sheaths of dental ceramic that are designed to cover the teeth visible in your smile. Over the years, porcelain and dental ceramics have become more common in dental offices, largely for their esthetics. However, improved manufacturing has made them incredibly durable as well. On average, veneers can last over 10 years when practicing daily oral care. Keep in mind that in order for the veneers to look natural, a small amount of tooth enamel needs to be removed, making the treatment permanent. We’ll always help you go over your cosmetic options.

Why Do Dentists Use Porcelain for Veneers?

It’s clear that porcelain is an ideal material for both esthetics and durability, but those are not the only benefits you can expect from treatment. For one, dental porcelain is incredibly smooth, unlike natural tooth enamel. In comparison, enamel carries an incredibly porous structure, making it easy for liquids to seep into. If you’ve ever consumed a richly-pigmentated food or beverage before, you’ve probably noticed your teeth turn the same color. This is because your tooth enamel’s many cracks and crevices have absorbed the substance. Without removal, this can permanently stain your teeth, causing it to turn yellow.

Benefits of Veneers

Because of porcelain’s incredibly smooth texture, stains are less likely to adhere to your new smile. Stains can still seep into porcelain, but not nearly as much as it would on worn-down tooth enamel. As long as you brush after meals containing staining foods and beverages, you can keep your smile white for many years.

Furthermore, veneers can hide a number of imperfections at the same time, helping you save money on other cosmetic treatments. Along with hiding chips, cracks and permanent discoloration, veneers can even hide gaps that would otherwise require orthodontics to fix.

How to Care for Your Veneers

Whether you have veneers or not, you should always be brushing at least twice a day with fluoridated toothpaste for a minimum of two minutes at a time. You should also be flossing to keep the sides of your restorations free of plaque and food debris. When consuming richly-pigmentated foods and beverages, whether it’s coffee, dark tea, pasta sauce or dark-colored fruits, it’s worth brushing or rinsing your mouth out with water. Additionally, do not under any circumstances use your teeth as a tool. While this is particularly true for natural teeth, using your mouth to open packages can cause them to chip or wear down. If you have any nervous habits that involve your teeth, such as biting on your nails, pens, pencils, or ice cubes, try to break those habits as soon as possible.

Understanding the Cost of Veneers

The price of veneers depends on multiple factors, such as how many teeth you wish to correct. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for when it comes to veneers and cosmetic dentistry in general. It’s always better to see veneers as making an investment, especially if you care about your smile’s appearance! With that said, the only way to know for sure how much you’d have to pay for veneers is to schedule a consultation with your dentist. We can then conduct an in-depth dental exam and thoroughly discuss the goals you have for your smile.

Which Cosmetic Treatment is Right for Me?

Cosmetic dentistry is incredibly comprehensive, meaning there are many ways to accomplish the same goal. Each of the cosmetic services our office provides come with their own unique cost. Below, you can learn about what issues they can treat in order to better determine if veneers or another service could better suit your needs.

  • Cosmetic Dental Bonding – Since dental bonding makes use of composite resin, a relatively inexpensive material, it’s one of the cheapest treatments you can complete. However, you’ll likely need to have your bonding redone every few years.
  • Invisalign Clear Braces – Invisalign can work to remove gaps and rotations in teeth, but they do nothing to address the shade or color of your enamel. It also takes a long time to complete and can be quite expensive.
  • Teeth Whitening – With a round or two of teeth whitening, you can remove even the deepest stains from enamel. However, gaps will remain if you have them.
  • Veneers – It is true that veneers are not the cheapest cosmetic treatment in the world, but they do provide a quick and substantial solution to misshapen, stained, and even crooked teeth, all at the same time.

How to Make Veneers Affordable

In the overwhelming majority of cases, cosmetic dentistry is not covered by dental insurance. This remains the case for veneers. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to make your treatment more affordable. For one, Fromuth & Langlois is happy to perform a smile makeover consultation completely free-of charge.

Additionally, third-party services like CareCredit can allow you to make regular monthly payments over a longer period of time. In many cases, your payments even come with little-to-no interest attached, making it even easier to manage your monthly budget.

Alternatively, our in-house membership plan can reduce the cost of other dental treatments, allowing more of your money to go towards services you want like veneers.

No matter how you decide to cover the costs of your cosmetic treatment, our team will gladly help you manage your budget in a way that offers the best value possible. Feel free to give our practice a call today if you have additional questions on how we can transform your smile!

What Does the Process of Getting Veneers Look Like?

As we mentioned earlier, getting veneers usually only takes two appointments (after a consultation with your cosmetic dentist to determine whether you’re a good candidate). First, we create room for the veneers by shaving off a very thin layer of enamel from the affected teeth. Next, we capture impressions of those teeth and send the data to a trusted dental lab. While your veneers are being meticulously crafted, we can let you take your new smile for a test drive by placing temporary veneers.

A few weeks later, when your veneers arrive at our office, we’ll schedule a second visit. We’ll make any last-minute adjustments to your final veneers before permanently cementing them in place. The last step is for you to walk out of our office with a new and improved smile!

Does Getting Veneers Hurt?

Our dentists always aim to provide you with a beautiful, healthy smile with as little discomfort as possible. That’s why we use potent numbing agents to ensure you feel no pain during your veneers procedure. You may experience some soreness in your gums or jaw, especially if you received a full smile makeover, but we will provide you with aftercare guidelines to make your recovery smooth and speedy.

What Should I Do If One of My Veneers Falls Off?

Although veneers are made from a durable material and attached with a powerful bonding agent, they can come off of your teeth on rare occasions. If this happens, try not to panic. Instead, locate the veneer and give us a call to schedule a prompt appointment. Whatever you do, do not attempt to reattach the veneer yourself with items like crazy glue. Doing so could permanently damage both the veneer and your tooth.
